Improving access to education and personal development opportunities for black girls.
Providing mentorship and support to black girls, helping them to navigate challenges and overcome obstacles in their pursuit of education and well-being.
Providing scholarship, internship, and career shadowing opportunities to enable black girls to get quality education and hands-on experience in their chosen fields.
Advocating for the rights, needs, and interests of black girls in the education system and in society as a whole.
Fostering a sense of community among black girls, connecting them with one another, and building a network of support and solidarity.
Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis and will be determined at the start of each award cycle.
Local Capacity Building
About
Our capacity-building program is a key component of our partnership with local organizations.
We understand that for our initiative to have a meaningful and lasting impact, we must constantly strive to improve and grow.
We work with local organizations to help them enhance capacity so that they can gain access to the resources and networks needed to effectively deliver programs and services to the black girls we serve.
About
Our Programmes
B.GILD
The Black Girls in the Lead(B.GILD) initiative aims to empower young black girls to change the world through education, mentorship, and the support they need to succeed in their educational and personal endeavors.
Our goal is to inspire, support, engage, equip and unleash the potential of black girls to drive change in their communities, business, politics, and the world at large.
Bloom
Mental health is a crucial aspect of overall well-being; and through the initiative, we provide resources and support to help black girls navigate these challenges.
Black girls experience unique stressors and challenges that can negatively impact their mental health. Racism, discrimination, and microaggressions can all contribute to feelings of isolation, low self-esteem, and depression. We believe that by providing mental health support, we can help black girls build resilience, improve their mental health, and operate on the best version of themselves
Thrive
Black girls often face unique challenges in achieving and maintaining physical health, such as limited access to healthy food options, lower levels of physical activity, and a lack of culturally-sensitive healthcare.
By working with local partners to provide access to educational resources and programs that enhance the health of the girls they serve, we can help black girls build healthy habits and overcome these challenges.
